Lesson of the Day - 150 - All Good Things....

I don't know if you'll ever find this or if there'll ever even be a me who needs to find it, but I remember the trouble I used to have with hacking and filters, so I'm leaving this unfiltered. It's kind of odd to be talking to a me who may have no memory of the city, but if someone's directed you to this journal than perhaps you can learn to not repeat the same mistakes of mine. I wish I'd made better notes of everything now, but the best I can do is open the journal completely.

There's a rather large account at the main bank in my name and Nanami's and Jowy's (hopefully he doesn't return during the war again) with all our past rainbow coins savings. And there's an apartment in room 460 of apartment building 11 that's been heavily warded by people I-- you used to trust. If anyone I once knew is still here, then you have friends. All you need to do is call out for them.

There's a dojo in Xanadu Gardens that used to be run by Nanami and I. Others run it now, but I'm sure you could work there again if you'd like. It's also been warded like the apartment. Otherwise I was once the Head of Special Assault in the city watch and there may still be people there to vouch for you.

My notes on exiting the city. Maybe you'll be able to make better sense of it than me. I still don't quite understand how I'm doing it now. But if you're from the same timeline as Nanami, perhaps it won't be so important to get out. Uh... do not try that group attempt the exact same way again. And don't mess with the timelines back home unless you really, really know what you're doing.

Don't trust the cursed food or anything that just suddenly appears. Especially if it's chocolate. Or cherries. Or candy. Or all the water's turned into alcohol again. Beware the cherry tree in Xanadu that always blooms. And always be careful around midnight, but don't start taking it for granted that everything will begin --or end-- then. You should try and find someone to back you up in case that inversion curse strikes and sends you running amok again. Don't aggravate the deities, but don't trust them either especially during deals... and don't accept everything as fated and unchangeable.

I suppose in the end all I can say is don't take the same path that I did. Don't let the anger and grief from the war and ... the betrayal... fester inside of you. Don't forget Tenzan Pass. And do your best to protect Nanami.

As I'm sure that everyone knows, it's been quite a time of change and fluctuation lately. New people join and veterans inevitably leave. But the city watch has pulled through worse and will do so again.

Open - Punisher Case - [1, 2, 3] No recent victims reported within the past month, suspect is still at large.

Closed - Insect Kidnapping Case - [1 , 2] All missing people recovered, kidnapper identified as Mohinder Suresh under outside influence at the time and presumably henceforth cured.

I believe that sums up our current position. I'd just like to take a moment to say that it's been an honor to work with each and every one of you, whether you were part of Special Assault or not.

So it's all reset again. And that's supposed to make it all right? Because it was undone, we go on as if it never happened? And so the cycle repeats and nothing changes. Even after trying everything-- It does no good to dwell, but where's the line between not dwelling and hiding? ~~I can't-- I can't protect her. I can't accept this.~~

But I'm not their lord here. I don't have to smile this time.

I'm afraid it's a bit late, but I'd like to thank everyone who helped me with Nanami that night. And who put up with me ~~snapping at everyone~~ the rest of the week. It seems that everyone has recovered ~~physically~~, so let's hope we get a bit of a break with the rest of the curses this month.

Last minute shoppers can at least breath a sigh of relief that we've already had the mistletoe curse. And it's odd, but I swear it's North Window Castle in this snowglobe.

Police Filter

Level of attacks appear to increase explosively during the night. Patrols are to be particularly concentrated between dusk and dawn. Those who pose a danger to others can be subdued and quarantined within the prison. Those in the early stages are still being brought and isolated at the hospital. We must keep a watchful eye there.

Keep in mind these affected people are still people. During the last zombie outbreak a cure was later discovered. But it does no one any good if they're allowed to infect -- or worse-- anyone else in the meanwhile. Priority is to be given to the protection of the uninfected. Also beware of Millenium's special brand of zombies.

Any who require it, the cache of Special Assault equipment is open. Specifically these are items meant to take down people with a minimum amount of damage done. Sleep scrolls, tranquilizer darts, net guns, and binding spells. Little familarity is needed regarding the first and last items.

Otherwise, status update?

Shadows whispering our doubts, regrets, guilt... sometimes its good to be reminded of our weakness. Sometimes you just have to put such things behind you and soldier on. ~~Nothing I haven't heard a thousand times before.~~ Considering it was a curse yesterday, the second probably applies to most of us.

~~How many times have I had to announce...?~~ Also, please be aware that there have been several different attacks on people around the city recently. For your own safety please try to keep track of your surroundings, travel in groups when appropriate,and report anything suspicious to the city watch.

On the bright side, it seems that outbreaks of the flu are dying down!

Attack 1 : Regulus Black found by Severus Snape within his potions shop. Stab wound on back, no weapon found, possible magical capability within attacker. First officers on the scene, Debra Morgan and Seras Victoria. Willing to press charges. More detailed report here.

Attack 2 : Thelma Bates, previously city dead, found in alleyway outside of Sunny Side Bakery by Ash Williams. Attacked from behind and knocked out, stab wound located on front of body. First officer on the scene, Lady. Willing to press charges.

Attack 3 : Lucy Saxon and the Master found by Clow Reed within Xanadu. Stab wound to back of Lucy and two stab wounds to the chest of the Master with the weapon-- a dagger-- left within. First officer on the scene, Clow Reed. No confirmation of resurrection at this point.

Forensics the dagger, along with the other evidence, is being sent to you. Perhaps the weapon can be linked to the other attacks.

Attack 4 : Reeve Tuesti found stabbed by his roommate Sergei Kravinoff in their apartment in building 7, apartment 12. First officers on the scene, Sasha Nein & Riou. Sergei will also be remaining in protective custody at headquarters for the moment.

Special Assault your patrol duties will be further extended for the duration of this current curse and case.

~~Another serial killer. I've been too caught up in this to even know what's been going on in that cursed stadium--~~ Everyone please be on the lookout. Outside of the curse, there have been several vicious attacks on city residents over the past few days. If you have any information on these, please feel free to contact anyone on the city watch.

The first curse that I was ever affected by on coming here. ~~For the sake of not scaring little children and the elderly to death~~ I won't be coming in to work today, unless an emergency arises. It's for the best as I pose something of a ~~drowning~~ slip hazard at the moment.

For all those affected... This is but a physical manifestation of the choices we made in our pasts. Both good and bad, we've all had our reasons, and have hopefully come to peace with ourselves for them.

Well... I've at least gotten a nice tour of the city the past few days. Thank the gods it seems to be over now, because the only thing better than wandering around lost in a city who's layout has been engraved into your brain is wandering befuddled around said city in a maid outfit. And it's starting to get chilly too. Although if everyone's power is quite done running amok? I hope everyone affected by the gender-switching contamination has also recovered by now?

Rose, should we set a date for finally vanquishing that game in the arcade? Uh... not today, though.

Officer Anita Blake was attacked and killed in the forest last night. Her body was returned by the Captain to her roommates who will be watching over her until she resurrects. Considering the situation of this case, Special Assault will be accompanying any Field Intel who goes out to the scene.

EDIT : Anita has since revived and identified her attacker as Ophelia. Needless to say this must be dealt with. Captain Kuchiki, as her direct superior, you probably stand the best chance of contacting and bringing her in quietly.

Well, yesterday wasn't too bad. It beats the blood and alcohol, at least. ~~I was almost tempted to... no, not with all the warnings I've given about not drinking the water!~~ And no one even turned into zombies! ~~Yet.~~ It makes me wonder if I ought to invest in a bottled water company, though.

I have also spoken to Schneizel el Brittannia who wishes to press charges against one 'Byakuran' for wrongful death on behalf of his sister Euphemia li Brittania and her friend Kururugi Suzaku, current whereabouts unknown. Suzaku was a former member of the city watch in one of his past stays here. The proper paperwork should be in the system shortly.

Hey Jowy, we should go out to the arcade or the amusement park or the movie theatre or something! ... or wait, did I show you that tree in Xanadu yet? Nanami knows the one! ~~She'll hunt you down and make you eat an entire pot of carrot stew if you don't stop sulking soon.~~
